With the temperatures at about 34’C, walkers are 25 km away from Newcastle and are heading towards Dundee.
Suffering from blisters, knee aches and ankle aches, in scorching hot weather, the participants are being treated for injuries along the way.
Yesterday the participants walked a further 5 km than expected.
Today, at 6 pm, the walk commenced from where they had previously stopped.
We urge the business and private sector to pledge their support towards this initiative by making a donation of R10 per leg of the walk or sponsor the entire distance. All proceeds will be donated towards the Gandhi Development Trust.
