Gandhi Peace Walk day 3- blisters and sore legs

Day three of the Gandhi Peace Walk commenced this morning from Greylingstad.

The 14 day walk commenced from the Lenasia Rising Sun offices on Saturday, September 19 with participants showing tons of enthusiasm.

According to Rising Sun CEO, Vijay Maharaj, the walkers are positive and motivated. Having passed the 120km mark, uneven surfaces and sore legs are the only problems the walkers are faced with.

“There are no shoulders on the road, therefore we are forced to walk on uneven surfaces which tends to become risky,” Maharaj said.

Having started the walk during overcast weather conditions on Saturday, by 12pm scorching heat had become a reality.

Although a little rainfall was experienced by the walkers, it has not demotivated the walkers.

The reception on arrival at Heidelberg and Greylingstad has been warm.

The walkers have 626km to reach the finish line at Durban’s Mahatma Gandhi Settlement in Inanda which will end on October 4.
